The FNBF IS NOT an Insurance Policy. The aims of this fund are mainly to be of support and assistance to its members in moments of need. One of the fund’s aims is to act as a means of social support to members who experience particular difficult times. Members contributing for at least six months to the fund may be financially assisted in:

Medical Treatment Abroad:

Members requiring medical treatment abroad (which treatment is not available locally) or someone of his/her immediate family member will benefit from re-imbursement of 2 flight tickets. If one ticket is funded by the state a ticket is offered to the accompanying person. A remuneration of EUR50 per day spent abroad for treatment is also given up to a maximum of 28 days.

Sick Leave:

If a member falls on sick leave without pay after exhausting all full and half pay sick leave, he/she can benefit from EUR465 every fortnight of sick leave without pay for a maximum of EUR1395.

Loss of Allowance due to injury on duty:

If a member is unable to work due to injury sustained while exercising his/her duties and although receiving a basic pay, misses out on more than EUR230 in allowances, he/she will benefit from a quarter of the allowances lost, up to a maximum of EUR700.

Retirement from Work:

Once a year a social function is organized in honor of the service given by those members who have retired the previous year. Each member is given a memento.

Counseling Services:

Members can benefit from individual counseling sessions offered through Richmond Foundation. According to current agreement, each session costs EUR26, EUR19 of which is subsidized by the fund while member pays the remaining EUR7.

Death of Members:

In case where a member passes away, the immediate next of kin are given the sum of EUR930 as a contribution towards funeral expenses.

This mechanism is all thanks to you contributing in the FNBF, which triggers off a means of solidarity and support from nurses to nurses.
