Directives at Adult Oncology Ward 2
I would like to inform you that MUMN is removing the directive ONLY 3 SYMPTOM CONTROL PATIENTS TO BE ADMITTED that exists in Ward 2.
This decision was taken with the good intention that the Day Cases Chemotherapy patients have been removed from the Adult Oncology Ward 2 bookings and taken to Day Ward.
Having said this it is important that:
- As a Ward they will NOT Postpone or have patients on waiting list to start chemotherapy since the beds will be occupied by the above said symptom Control patients.
- If more than 2 dependent symptom control patients will require to be washed in the morning a Carer needs to be allocated from the management to help with patient’s bed bathing in the ward.
I would also like to inform you that the Directive that NO HAEMATOLOGY PATIENTS TO BE ADMITTED in Oncology Ward 2 is still in force.
Regards,
Colin Galea
