MUMN withdraws all directives on influenza vaccinations

The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses have withdrawn all directives relating to the influenza vaccinations, putting their industrial action which delayed the administration of the vaccines to patients to an end.

Nurses want proper burial for victims of COVID-19

The nurses’ union has called for victims of COVID-19 to be buried with dignity because it is safe to do so, saying the laws being enforced date back to the bubonic plague of the 1500s.

“The MUMN cannot understand why this human suffering is being tolerated,” union president Paul Pace said in a letter to Superintendent of Public Health Charmaine Gauci.

MUMN warns of industrial action as ITU reaches full capacity

The nurses’ union has warned of industrial action over the fact that the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) has reached “maximum capacity.” The MUMN said it is registering “a crisis and an ultimatum” in both ITU and Pillar 4.

Pope presented with Tunic worn by Nurses and Midwives in Malta

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the setting up of the MUMN, the executive committee and a number of members this morning visited the Vatican City State.

The delegation, led by its President Paul Pace, this morning participated in the general audience by His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican’s Piazza San Damaso.
